Our Bands
Smallgang
 |
By now, surely you've heard of London based indie outfit, Smallgang!
Brothers Simon and Toshi Kobayashi front the band, with husband Matt (ex huge Baby) and wife Ruth Atkins completing the lineup.
In true indie band fashion Smallgang have been slogging away gigging up and down the UK for 5 years picking up a loyal following of Smog, Kings of Leon and Pavement fans along the way.
We recommend you pick up a copy of 'Labours' an album of material they recorded themselves and sell at shows and through their myspace
We here at Hooked Up Records were so impressed with their live show we decided to make our debut release Smallgang's 'Waiting for Your Life/Til it's Gone'.

College Fall
 |
College Fall formed in 2005 as a band that pride themselves on independence, originality and creativity. Shown via their acoustic pop music and a desire to be a band who takes 'the road less travelled', College Fall are constantly travelling the world to take their power pop splendidness to the masses.
Proudly West Australian, College Fall first travelled to Europe in 2006 for a 70 date European tour where they were invited to play festivals in England, Spain, Finland, Denmark and France.
The band have graced the stage alongside many of their countries most famous talents including: Jet, Youth Group, The Whitlams, Beautiful Girls, Little Birdy and End of Fashion. Their enchanting stage show has warmed the hearts of many including many stage sharers; Mountain Goats, Lou Barlow, M Ward and Guided By Voices.
They released their debut album in the UK through Hooked Up in Sept 07 and are currently putting the final touches to their second album, recorded with Michael Carpenter in Sydney, Australia.

Falling Out Of Cars
 |
Falling Out Of Cars were from London. They "craft resplendent collages of effects laden fluorescent cosmic groove that's sumptuously immersed in shimmering showers of fuzzy felt dream pop"!
And sometimes they make loud noise "not unlike a Harrier Jumpjet pummel-fucking you in the Cranium"
Although Falling out of Cars no longer exist their HU single and self released EP will live on in our hearts and office FOREVER.
The best backhanded compliment Hooked Up ever received was in a review of 'Do you come away/Glass' by time a Time Out reviewer:
"A feast of stinging feedback, droney, disembodied vocals and driving, mantric rhythms. Imagine if Creation hadn't bothered with signing Oasis. They'd be putting out records like this and still praying for a new My Bloody Valentine album.

Black Light Theatre
 |
The Black Light Theatre story began in January 2007 and wrapped up in mid 2008.
The four members of Black Light Theatre, reeking of musical experience and urgency, sped into a frenzy of ideas and ambitions and entered a practice room based at a factory in Sheffield. 4 hours later the door re-opened and from the mist appeared the new face of Northern soul.
The following months saw the band spend all their time in that same factory or out on the live circuit. Main support at Camden's Barfly, a now legendary gig supporting The Draytones at The Old Blue Last and a single deal with Hooked Up Records quickly followed. With fingers in every musical pie ever baked in the north, the band released their debut single in October of the same year along with delivering pants ripping performances at several big nights in Sheffield, Liverpool, London and Manchester.
So many great achievements for a band so short lived.
